Trashy, Sinky and Flushy {Review & Giveaway}

With the nice weather coming in, it’s time for my annual spring cleaning.  Needless to say, I was pretty excited when I found out I was getting the opportunity to sample some cleaning products from Natural House.  When I received and opened the package, I was immediately intrigued by their catchy names – Trashy, Sinky and Flushy.  The names say it all-  products that clean the trashcan, sink and toliet!  These plant-based products are non-toxic, eco- friendly and biodegradable.  My family’s health is my priority, so natural cleaning products that are safe to use in my home make me an especially happy Mommy.

Using natural cleaning products in my home that can truly live up to my expectations can sometimes be a bit of a challenge.  It is important to me that the products clean well, sanitize and leave my house smelling fresh and clean.  These Natural House products are marked as professional grade, which means they should be able to stand up to some high standards.  Let’s see how they weigh in!

I’ve been using the Natural House products now for about 3 weeks.  I am truly impressed so far by the results I have seen from using the products.  They are simple to use and really do a great job of getting these three places clean.  Check out this cool video to understand how the Natural House cleaning products work:

Trashy is the perfect odor buster and sanitizer for the indoor and outdoor trashcans.  With its wintergreen fresh scent, it destroys odors with a simple spray or two and keeps those stinkies away.  I’ve gotton into the habit of spraying my outdoor cans after each trash day and my indoor cans before lining with a new bag each day.  I am wondering why I never found out about this product back in my diaper pail days – I really could have use this back then!

The 30 day supply of Sinky contains 4 water soluble packets that you use once a week to clean the drain of your sink.  I have been using this in my kitchen sink, since that is where most of the smelly foods are tossed into the garbage disposal.  Normally I find myself regularly pouring dish soap down the drain and giving it a good rinse, but I have to say I am really loving this little drain pouches.  To use, you simply toss a packet into the drain, run the hot water for 5-10 seconds and turn on the garbage disposal (if you have one) for 1-3 seconds.  You can smell its citrusy scent as it goes to work.  The package says that you can watch Sinky’s foaming action while it works, but I have to say, I am not able to see any foaming in the sink.  However, what is especially great about this product is that it contains probiotics that go deep into the drain to also break down grease and food scraps, thus preventing clogging.  These little probiotics continue to work for a full week until the next treatment.  So far, my drain has been clean, clear and odor free!

I thought I should mention that cleaning the toilet bowl is my least favorite chore.  I have to say – Flushy just made my job a little easier.  The 30 day supply comes with 4 little pouches.  Each week, you pop a pouch into the toilet and instantly watch it go to work.  The little pouch opens and starts to bubble as it settles into the water, turning the water bright blue.  (There is something fun about watching it go to work).  Let it sit a few minutes, brush and flush!  It’s that simple.  Toilet looks and smells clean and fresh.  I hate to admit this – but cleaning the toilet hasn’t been half as bad since I’ve been using these products.
