Last week, several members of the MOMS Club of Prospect Park and their children took time out from their day to visit five local Ridley area police stations to show their gratitude to our local police officers, who keep our families and neighborhoods safe for us everyday. Among the stations visited were Norwood, Glenolden, Prospect Park, Ridley Park and Ridley Township. A few weeks prior, children of the club gathered with their Moms to create special handmade cards which they delivered at each of the stations along with soft pretzels and boxes of coffee, cups and sweeteners, which were generously donated by McDonald’s, located at 800 Chester Pike in Prospect Park. It was such a wonderful way for the children to show their gratitude and meet some of these local heroes in person. The officers were extremely grateful and many went out of their way to speak with the children, show them their police cars, anwer their questions and tell them a little about their jobs. What a wonderful way to pay respect to the persons who put their lives on the line for us everyday. Many thanks to all of our police and servicemen who service our community – each and every one of you are heroes to us all.
The MOMS Club is an international nonprofit group specifically for at-home mothers, which offer a variety of events for moms who stay at home or who work part-time, and their children: Field Trips, Mom’s Night Out, Playgroups, Holiday Parties, Service Projects and more.
