Halloween is just over a week away!  Have you shopped for your Halloween costumes yet?

My son’s birthday is on Halloween so it’s no surprise that he begins deciding on his Halloween costume far before all of the local stores began to put out Halloween costumes!  Over the past few years, we have enjoyed the ease of shopping for Halloween costumes online and we have been especially happy with the selection and service at BuyCostumes.com.  I love that there are tons of reviews from customers, which give honest reviews of the products and help you to decide on the perfect costume based on fit, quality and more.

Most years, my children opt for costumes they are able to use to dress up throughout the year. My son tends to gravitate toward character themed costumes whereas my daughter usually goes for more girly, twirly, glitzy garb. We have found that by choosing these types of costumes, my kids usually get the opportunity to enjoy them and wear them again at play dates, parties and library-themed events. Other past costumes which we have found to make frequent appearances throughout the year include Disney costumes, pirates and superheroes, all which also are fun for everyday dress up!

Any opportunity to dress up and have fun is always a hit with our whole family.  Needless to say when offered the opportunity to review a costume from BuyCostumes.com, my son was over the moon at the opportunity.  For the first time this year my son has graduated into the adult size costumes.  He is very tall for his age and we have found that adult sized costumes fit better overall and are more comfortable for him, especially if we need to dress warmly with extra clothes beneath the costume.  After looking through the endless options on their website, my son settled on the Tin Man costume and Ax accessory, which he could not wait to receive!

The costume arrived quickly and neatly packaged. Since the clothing part of the costume is one piece, I was a bit worried as to whether the length would be good or too long. It is lightweight and loose fitting, which is perfect for allowing my son to wear something heavy underneath if the weather happens to be cold.   This particular costume is a one size fits all and must run a bit on the small size because it fit my son perfectly but I would think it would be quite tight on a taller, larger adult.  This particular costume is easy to take off and on and will be perfect for any school or other Halloween parties he may attend.  We decided that we will be picking up a pair of gray stretch gloves for his hands and we are going to make a heart clock out of red and white felt.  We were able to find some silver face makeup at the store for under $3.

I have to say, BuyCostumes.com is such a pleasant and hassle-free way to shop for costumes – any time of year! With its unbeatable selection ranging from infants to adults and plus size as well as a range of prices to fit your budget, you are sure to find something for everyone in one shopping experience. Right now orders over $65 ship for free and there is a coupon code FRIGHT20, which will get you 20% off through October 26, 2013. Hurry – there is still time to order in time for Halloween!

What is your Halloween costume of choice this year? Have you tried shopping for costumes online?

  3. Great costume! We’re hoping to make our daughter’s costume this year, but she keeps changing her mind about what she wants to be. She’s 3 now, so she is more involved in the process and we’re looking forward to involving her in the creation of whatever it is!
