Are you looking to have some fun with the kids this weekend? Clementon Park/Splash World in Clementon NJ is a wonderful option for the whole family. On Friday, September 2nd from 7AM to 11AM, all admission tickets will be just $10 plus tax when you purchase them online. The tickets are then valid anytime from Friday September 2nd through Monday September 5th. What a fun way to spend the Labor Day weekend!
Recently, my family and I had the pleasure of visiting Clementon Park Splash World with some of the wonderful Philly Social Media Moms (PSMM) thanks to Joey Fortman of Real Mom Media and 95.7 BEN FM. We were treated to a day of splish-splashin, thrill riding, non-stop fun.
The day started out with a sopping mess of rain, but that certainly did not stop our eager crowd from venturing out for a day at the park. Hey, the kids got the party started by jumping in the puddles and sending each other into fits of laughter and giggles while the moms listened to an interesting history of the park. Did you know that this is Clementon Park’s 104th consecutive season of being open? Wowzers! I had no idea. From the looks of this park, I would have never guessed it’s age – although I must admit I did go here as a kid…which seems like many moons ago!
At Clementon Park, we found a little something for everyone. And, the sun came out (and stayed out) just in time for us to get a real taste of what the park had to offer. I guess our “Rain, Rain, Go Away” song worked after all!
My 8 year old son took his first big roller coaster ride – EVER- on the unbelievable Hellcat, a wooden roller coaster with a 110 feet (33.5 m) plummet and a stomach-swirling helix! It must have brought out the daredevil in him, because next thing I knew, he was soaring down the a sky scraping 60’ tall Torpedo Rush, Clementon Park’s newest water attraction! Needless to say he had tons to brag about to his friends when he got home that day!

My 4 year old was most excited about the cool carousel and wanted to ride over and over on the variety of animals. We also enjoyed a fun mini train ride around the park. In addition, the park had an indoor area with children’s rides for little ones 48 inches or less. I almost did not even realize it existed. You have to actively look for it; it can be found near the gift shop.
We ended up spending the bulk of or day in Splash World, where the entire family had a blast! The kids pounced around Laguna Kahuna for what seemed like hours. (I think my husband had as much fun in this area as my kids.) Later we headed off to the Lazy River for a relaxing ride together before once again stepping up the pace and enjoying some the family tube rapids and racers.
All-in-all, we had an amazing day at the park. It was close to 4:00 PM before the rain decided to come back out and bring our fun to an end. The park did offer passes to return on another day to those who were still in the park at this time. (I am not sure if this is customary for them to do, but the guests who received them seemed quite pleased.)
In addition, I must mention that this park was clean, beautifully landscaped and well maintained. Even the bathrooms smelled fresh (and there were attendants at the bathrooms each time we visited). And best of all, the staff was super friendly and welcoming.
Will we be going back in the future? ABSOLUTELY! Hey, it was about a 30 minute ride from Delaware County and the prices can’t be beat! They even offer a Season Pass for just $49.99. 2011 one day general admission includes rides and water park and is just $32.99 plus tax; children 48 inches and under as well as senior citizens are just $24.99 plus tax. Twilight admission (after 3 pm) is $19.99 pp. Children two and under are always admitted for free. If you purchase the tickets online prior to going, you can currently save $13 on regular price adult admission and $3 on regular price children’s tickets. You can also purchase discount tickets to the park in advance at the Ridley Township Building for just $22.00 ($15.99 savings). The Ridley Township Building is located at 100 MacDade Boulevard, Folsom, PA. The office is located on the second floor. For more information and availability call the Township Office at 610-534-4800.
Now I just need to muster up the courage to try that Torpedo Rush for myself next time I visit!
