Daily Gratitude Day 19: MY Babysitter

Yep, you read that correctly – I am thankful for MY babysitter, Karen.  Even after all these years, we are still incredibly close and she continues to spoil me the same way she did when I was a kid.  Just the other day, she dropped by for a surprise visit with gifts in hand for me and my son – for our birthdays.  She is so thoughtful and has always been so much more than a babysitter – she is like a big sister, someone I can always trust and turn to.  Karen took me places as a kid that I may have never gone had it not been for her.  She took me to carnivals and theme parks (and even got on rides despite her motion sickness), she took my sister and I in town every year for the light show and Dickens Village (which I now have carried on with my own children), she took us to all the Disney on Ice shows (again something I now do with my own children), museums, parks…you name it, we’ve probably been there with her.  I have no idea why she spoiled us the way she did or why she continues to do so today, but one thing I am sure of is that I can never thank her enough for the impact she has made on my life.  Karen, it is because of you that I am so motivated to do all the wonderful things that you did with us with my own children.  You are one incredible lady and I thank you for all of the love and friendship you have brought and continue to bring to my life.  Happy Birthday!  May all your dreams and wishes come true!
