My husband worked for the same company for 14 years. Although I have heard the stories time and again in this uncertain economy, I never in my wildest dreams imagined that one day he would come home and tell me that he was losing his job. It’s one of the most surreal experiences I have ever encountered. For days, I walked around dazed and in disbelief. When I made the decision to leave my -home own job to become a stay-at-home Mom, I always knew this was a possibility but until you actually lose your primary income, you cannot even begin to explain the fear that takes over.
My husband and I have always lived within our means. I am by nature frugal and even more so since becoming a stay-at-home Mom. We have been able to live very comfortably due to choices we have made over the years, and lucky for us I tend to keep my pantry and freezer well-stocked and we have a savings account for emergencies.
