Family Dollar Helps You to Build Your Easter Baskets for Less

Let’s face it – Easter basket shopping can really add up fast, especially when you have more than one child.  I really try to stretch my dollars as much as possible when it comes to Easter shopping so I decided to check out Family Dollar this year to see just how far I could stretch my budget.  My goal was to stay around $15- let’s see how it went…

I invested in a few nice matching baskets for my children a few years ago.  We reuse the same baskets year after year and I have even gotten into the habit of reusing the Easter grass by stuffing it back into a ziplock bag each year and putting it right back into the baskets before I store them.  It is one less item I have to buy each year, and it always makes me feel good whenever I am able to reuse or recycle items.

Family Dollar currently has a great $5 off of $25 or more coupon that is good through April 8th .  Before I left for the store, I printed one of these coupons and made a small list of household items that I could use.  I figured if I combined my $15 Easter basket purchases along with the other necessary items on my list, I could save an additional $5 on my other miscellaneous shopping needs.  One of the reasons I really enjoy shopping at Family Dollar is that in addition to their competitive prices, you can also use manufacturers coupons which really lets you get the most bang for your buck.

I was quite impressed with the Easter basket selections.  Most items were $1 – $3 with fully made baskets ranging from $5-$10.  Here’s a little peek at some of the great items you can find in store HERE.  I was able to purchase some great candy and goodies for my basket which included:

Double Crisp Bunny $1
Double Crisp Bunnyettes $1
Velvet Art Poster $1
Huckle Bunny Jellybean Filled Candy Fishing Game $2
Gum Mini Eggs $1
2 pack of Peeps $1
M& M filled Easter Egg $1
Plush Easter Bunny (which is super soft with Satiny ears) – $3
Bag of Jellybeans $1
Bunny Spinner $1
Hershey’s Reese Egg 0.75
Little Debbie Easter Basket Cakes $1.79

Total = $15.54

I went ahead and purchased an additional $9.50 worth of household products.    After using my $5 off $25 or more coupon, I saved an additional $5 and crossed other necessities off my household shopping list.  There are some great sales going on this week.  Be sure to check out this week’s sale ad HERE to see what you can cross off your list for less.

Be sure to check out the picture of my finished basket above. I thought it was quite impressive and will certainly make for some smiles on Easter morning.

There are just a few days left until Easter!  Hurry over to Family Dollar and see just how far you can stretch those dollars!

Disclosure: I was provided with a gift certificate from Family Dollar to assist in creating my Easter basket. I received no additional compensation for this post.  Opinions, as always, are my own.
