Creativity for Kids Craft Kits {Review & Giveaway}

Crafts are always a big hit with my kids.  They love how crafts let them express their creativity and create something they can proudly display.   I love that they keep the kids entertained and give them a sense of accomplishment. Now that summer is winding down, I have found that breaking out a craft kit on a blazing hot day has been the perfect way to keep us all happy and to allow us to wind down and enjoy some quality family time.  Our family was recently given the opportunity to review three really awesome Creativity for Kids Craft Kits.  Our kits included:

My kids were over-the-top excited about visiting their cousin at the shore so we decided to bring along a few of the kits to enjoy with him.  My 9-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter couldn’t wait to share their creativity with their 4 year-old cousin.  I loved that all of the kits gave us everything we needed to make the crafts from beginning to end.  No need to purchase special supplies or additional accessories.  I was also delighted that all three crafts were age appropriate for all three of the kids, which kept them all very happy with a little occasional help from me.

As with all crafts that we pursue, we lined the kitchen table with newspaper and started with the Gnome Garden.  The kids painted the mushrooms and rocks included in the kit as well as the sides of the garden container.

The kids took turns adding the various elements one by one until the entire project was complete.

They were so excited at how great the final garden turned out.  The kids made a game of moving the gnomes around in the garden throughout the day and each day they took turns spraying and caring for the garden.  The kids loved the finished product and are eager to watch their new garden grow.

After they finished their Gnome Garden, the kids were eager to start another craft.  We pulled out the Glitter Art Kit and each of the kids chose a trinket box to decorate.  It happened to be our cousin’s Mom Mom’s 80th birthday so each of the kids decided they would make a special trinket box for her and a card.  This craft was a bit messy, so I was glad that we had lined the table with paper to ensure an easy clean up and no damage to our table.  Each of the kids took turns with the glitter and glitter glue.

My 9 year-old was able to do this craft independently but both the 4 and 5 year-old required some help when shaking the glitter and working with the glue.  With a little help, they were still very happy and proud of their finished crafts.  Best of all, Mom Mom cried when she was presented with her special gifts from the kids.  I must say – crafts from the kids are always my favorite gifts too so these kits are perfect to keep on hand for these types of occasions.

My daughter and I are hosting a play date in a few weeks so we decided to save the Fashion Headband Kit to enjoy with her friends at our play date.  Complete with 10 headbands to decorate, this could easily be used for parties as well.  My daughter has decided that her and her friends can have a “fashion show” to show off their creations.

I also recently joined the Creativity Club at the Creativity for Kids website.  It is free to join and members receive free downloadable crafts, craft of the month instructions and ideas, access to the creativity blog, parent information and more!

As a Mom, I highly recommend the Creativity for Kids Craft Kids.  Not only are they wonderful for entertaining your own kids, but they also make wonderful birthday and holiday gifts.  I certainly will be hinting to Santa to put a few under our Christmas tree this year.
