Jolly Time Popcorn Back to School Trio {Review}

School is back, which means that I find myself buying more snacks for the kids to pack in their lunches, for after school and in between sports practices and games.  Finding snacks that the kids love yet are also healthy is always a priority when shopping.

It’s inevitable that the first question my kids ask when getting home from school is “What is for snack?”  Jolly Time Popcorn Trio to the rescue!

My family and I were recently sent three boxes of Jolly Time Popcorn for review – 100 calorie Kettle Corn, 100 Calorie Butter and a pack of Blast O’ Butter.  All three packages contained bags that were smaller than the usual popcorn bags and perfect for snacking.  I was especially impressed with the two 100 calorie versions.  As I am constantly watching my weight, these are a great snack for Mom (or Dad) too!  Did you know that air popped popcorn is not only whole grain, but has only 31 calories per cup and oil popped has just 55 calories per cup?  In addition, Jolly Time Popcorn is endorsed by Weight Watchers and the 100 Calorie versions are just 3 points per bag.  Sweet!

The Kettle Corn is the perfect balance of salty and sweet and is definitely the favorite of my college age daughter.  I am sending a pack in her care package to college as I know they will be much appreciated when she’s looking for a late night snack when studying.

The 100 calorie Butter bags were just buttery enough to give them the fun, classic popcorn flavor our family loves. It won rave reviews from the entire family.  Portioned controlled and low in calories, this will definitely become a regular snack option in our home.  Since it contains very little grease, it is less messy, making it a perfect portable snack.

The Blast O’ Butter Popcorn certainly lives up to its name.  Doused in extra butter, I found this popcorn to be more greasy and messy than the other options, but certainly very close in taste to the kind you buy at the movies.  Since this version is higher in fat and calories than the other options, we will be saving this one as an occasional treat, especially good for family movie night at home.

Be sure to stop over to Jolly Time’s website, where you will find fun popcorn recipe ideas – even healthy creations!  My kids loved checking out the recipes and we are planning to try making a few in the upcoming weeks.  They are especially excited about trying out some of the Halloween recipes.  You can also follow Jolly Time on Facebook and Twitter.   And, if you are like me and love saving money on products you love, you can find printable coupons on Jolly Time’s Website HERE.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
