Hair Thingz {Review & Giveaway}

My 5-year-old daughter Hailey loves accessories!  Since our school district requires uniforms, hair accessories are simple way to add some personality to my daughter’s attire while keeping her hair looking pretty everyday.  We are always looking for new accessories to add to our hair collection.

A few weeks ago, I was chosen to review some fun (and unique) hair accessories called Hair Thingz.  Hair Thingz are flexible plastic spiral twists that return to their original spiral shape no matter how many times they are bent, straightened or twisted.  They are approximately 3 inches in length but can be cut shorter to fit shorter length hair.  They can be layered and linked and will not damage hair. They come in a range of bright, cheerful colors and are just $5.99 per 12 pack, making them perfect for small gifts or stocking stuffers.

My daughter chose the Pretty Princess Pack, consisting of  Pink, Purple, Silver and White.  I’ll admit, it takes a bit of practice to get used to twirling the hair and placing the HairThingz (especially if you child’s hair may be curly and thick like mine), but once you get the knack, you’ll be creating new styles in no time. Check out a few of these great videos showing how they work:

Head over to the HairThingz website HERE and their Facebook page HERE for more instructions, information and style ideas.

The styles you can create with the twists, especially for children with longer hair are endless. My daughter has a slightly shorter than shoulder length hair, so we cut a few of the products in half to accommodate her hair length when making pony tails.  For higher placed pony tails, we were able to keep them long to allow for a fun ribbon/ layered twist affect.  Check out a few pics of Hailey wearing HairThingz:

      How fun would it be to layer some red and white for a fun “Candy Cane” look?  How perfect for the holidays!

Not only are Hair Thingz adorable, they really do stay in, making them perfect for active kids, gymnasts and cheerleaders just to name a few. Layer them in team or school colors to show your team pride!  My daughter has worn these for hours while running around the house and playing and not only did they stay in, she did not mind keeping them in!

We have been receiving a ton of compliments on them and I can tell you they certainly are a conversation piece with people who have never seen them.  My daughter loves them and I am looking forward to trying new styles with my daughter, especially as her hair grows longer.
