With Christmas just days away, I am sure many of you are still scrambling for last minute Christmas ideas for those still remaining on your lists. Just in the past weeks I have received at least 4-5 calls from family members asking for ideas for Christmas gifts for my own children. I know Video Games are always a big hit with them so I thought I would share some of my favorite hot holiday game gift ideas with you. I have had the privilege of learning about many of these games at the Activision Family Summit in New York City Last month, at the Digital Family Summit in Philadelphia this past June and A Time to Play Holiday Showcase in New York this past October. All of the games have been a big hit with my own family and many are available for several game systems.
While attending the Activision Family Game Summit last month, not only did I have the chance to meet one of my childhood favorites, Soleli Moon Frye aka “Punky Brewster” (and her beautiful children) but I also learned about many of the positive aspects of playing games as a family. One of the best tips I walked away with was to check out the ratings of each game and to try them out as a parent before allowing your child to play them. By doing this, you will have a better understanding of the games your child is interested in and whether or not you feel they are a good fit for your child. This is the perfect starting place in helping you to make informed choices when selecting appropriate games for the whole family.
Do you and your family enjoy family game nights? You may want to consider adding a few of these games to your next game night. Skylanders Giants, Angry Birds Trilogy and Wipeout 3 are a few of our family’s favorites. Oh and a little dance time with Just Dance 4, Just Dance Disney or Nickelodeon Dance 2 is always great for laughs – and burning a few extra calories!
