Last Minute Gift Idea : 2013 Activision Family Video Games

Activision 2013

With Christmas just days away, I am sure many of you are still scrambling for last minute Christmas ideas for those still remaining on your lists.  Just in the past few days I have received numerous calls from family members asking for ideas for Christmas gifts for my own children.  Video Games are always a big hit with them so I thought I would share some of my favorite hot holiday game gift ideas with you.  I have had the privilege of learning about many of these games at the Activision Family Summit, which was held in New York City last month.  Although I was unable to attend the summit in person this year due to my work schedule, I was granted access to follow along with the summit online – and once again it was fabulous!

The summit focused on the positive aspects of playing games as a family.  One of the best tips I walked away with was to check out the ratings of each game and to try them out as a parent before allowing your child to play them.  By doing this, you will have a better understanding of the games your child is interested in and whether or not you feel they are a good fit for your child.  You can learn more about the ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board)  and what the ratings mean HERE.  This is the perfect starting place in helping you to make informed choices when selecting appropriate games for the whole family.  Do you and your family enjoy family game nights?  You may want to consider adding a few of these games to your next game night.  Skylanders SWAP Force and Angry Birds Star Wars are a few of our family’s favorites.  All of the games have been a big hit with my own family and many are available for several game systems.  This year, Xbox 360 is at the top of my son’s Christmas wish list – so we are looking forward to adding more new games to our new system’s collection!

Here is a list of my family friendly video game gift guide picks this year:

Skylanders SWAP Force

Angry Birds Star Wars

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Wipeout: Create & Crash

SpongeBob SquarePants: Plankton’s Robotic Revenge

Moshi Monsters: Katsuma Unleashed

Which game system is your family’s favorite?  Does your family enjoy family game nights as much as we do??

Disclosure: I received Activision products to facilitate this review; no monetary compensation was received.  All opinions, as always, are 100% my own.

  4. It was so nice to see your family friendly list of games. So many times my kids have asked for games but when I research them the level of violence, bad language and sexual content is unacceptable.
