Lice Removal…The Natural Way! Lice Lifters! One Quick Treatment. Done!
No one wants to get that dreaded call from the nurses’ office stating that a screen of your child’s head revealed that they have head lice. Lice are stubborn little buggers that multiply quickly and can easily spread from child to child (and to parents and siblings) simply by using someone else’s hair brush, wearing someone’s (who has been infected) hat or clothing, and sharing bedding or nap mats – just to name a few. Worst of all, once someone has been infected with lice, the need to get rid of them becomes an even bigger burden. ANYONE can get head lice! It is not about how “clean” or “dirty” someone is. Taking steps to recognize, treat (when necessary) and prevent head lice should be a priority for all parents. I have been through the process and headache of dealing with lice many years ago when my oldest was a toddler in child care. The experience is one I would rather never have to repeat. That being said, my goal is to take any preventative steps I can to keep my children and family lice free all year round! I feel especially lucky to live in Pennsylvania, where there is an awesome service called Lice Lifters, who take care of lice removal quickly, safely and naturally, while educating and helping parents through the process.
Did you know lice activity is traditionally the highest in September and October? Our kids are playing in large groups at school or hunched over one another to get a good look at something. Sports helmets are swapped, coats and jackets get piled together. These are just a few examples of perfect conditions for lice transmission.
Facts:
- Lice do not discriminate; the cleanliness of your hair, home, or school has nothing to do with the risk of getting lice.
- 1 louse can lay up to 10 eggs (nits) per day.
- You cannot get head lice from an animal and your animals can not get it from you, lice need human scalp blood to survive.
- Off the human head, lice cannot survive for more than 48 hours.
- “Super Lice” and their resistance to traditional over the counter treatments are a pesky problem. Consumers are becoming more aware and informed about the toxic levels of over-the-counter-treatments.
- Electronic devices like IPods, IPads and cell phones cause kids to cluster together to view games, videos and movies as do group “selfies”. All of this head to head contact spreads lice easily.
- Battling lice at home for weeks at a time is time-consuming, causes stress, causes missed school/work days and is often is ineffective.

Nix , Rid and other over-the-counter products have pesticides in their ingredients? Some contain 4 times the amount of chemicals and pesticides as Raid! Pretty scary! Lice are becoming more and more resistant to these chemicals creating the term “Super Lice”. Often people battling lice use these products over and over again and still cannot get rid of lice. Sometimes scalps are burned as a result of over treatment. I know, as a parent, that I am often hesitant of using products with chemical on my child for fear of after effects to their overall health and well being. Do you agree?
Some prescription and over–the-counter treatments contain chemicals that are no longer permitted for use on crops or animals, yet are allowed for lice treatment. Some of these chemicals and pesticides have been proven to cause cancer, seizures and in some cases death! It’s no wonder why some parents are often hesitant to take the full measures needed to combat the lice – especially if it means using harsh, unnatural measures to do so. As a parent – it’s our job to protect our children! Surely there must be a better way, right?
Thankfully, now there is an effective, all natural treatment to stop lice in its tracks!

I have been using The Nit Nanny Mint Detangler Spray , a natural lice deterrent, on my children daily and I have been so pleased with the product. My kids love the fresh, minty smell. Even better, the detangler in the spray also helps control my daughter’s uber curly, unruly morning hair – making combing easier and her hair more manageable. Since we have made it a part of our morning routine – it’s just one simple step towards prevention. So far – no lice. I highly recommend giving it a try!

There were cases of lice at my son’s daycare but he never got it.
I have never had to deal with it but I keep a “lice kit” up in the cupboard just in case it happens — I like to be prepared for the worst.
Thankfully not, but it’s always good to be prepared.
I thankfully haven’t had to deal with it yet.
Not yet. Never had it and neither has my daughter! It’s always nice to have it just in case though.
No thank goodness. It can be a pain in the booty.

Yes and it was the worse experience ever! My kids could not get rid of it because their mom would not cooperate in treating it.
Yes I had them when I was in elementary school and it was horrible! I hope my kids never have to go through that!

Oh my goodness, yes.It was awful! My daughter got it and I treated her and the entire house. Then less than a week after going back to school she had it again. We found 2 bugs and a few nits. treated her and her room. Long story short, I picked her up from school and a neighbor who she sat by on the bus and they put their heads together had it the mom refused to treat the house. Then despite me seeing her daughters in the office with it went around “bragging” that her kids didn’t have lice, but they were sick all the time is why they missed school. It was very frustrating. We ended up cutting my daughters super thick long hair and sadly we had to stop letting her sit next to her friend on the bus. That poor girl still was suffering from lice 4 months later. Thank goodness we got rid of it. Those neighbors moved. I still miss the girl, but not her mom.
I din’t tell anyone that I saw her daughters in the office by the way. But it has bugged (punny huh) me that she was bragging about them not having lice. It was weird.
Luckily I haven’t had to deal with it
Yess and it was awful! The kids kept getting their winter hats mixed up and putting on each others hats. It took forrever gor everyone to get rid of them!!
Sounds like a great way for you who have children to get rid of the little buggers! Please enter me in contest!
Yes, when I was a nanny. They had out of town guests. Needless to say the guest brought lice with them. Sadly, the mother knew and still came.
One good thing. I was only there one day and I was the one who found the lice (gross). After that day I did not have to be there. By then they had tried to rid of them .
As a child, my siblings were sent home due to lice. I have been fortunate that my daughter has been lice free, however she doesn’t go to daycare or school at this time.
As a kid I did.
Luckily we haven’t had to yet!!
As a kid, yep

Luckily, I haven’t had to deal with it with my little guy yet. But I had it a few times when I was a kid. We used some generic shampoo.
Growing up we had to deal with lice a few time in our household but I have not yet had to deal with it with my kids.
Lice is very annoying and it spreads very quickly from one head to another. I would love to have that licelifter in my home.
