Disclosure: I eceived a Keepsake Ornament from Hallmark to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.
Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year. Filled with family traditions and all of the family time we can pack in together, there is nothing I look forward to more than spending this very special time of year with the people I love more than anything in the world.
Holiday celebrating starts for us on Thanksgiving eve. Usually our elf on the shelf Kandy Kane pays a visit to our kids and rings in the magic and wonder of the holiday season. Bright and early the day after Thanksgiving, we get up early, pop on some Christmas music and decorate the house from top to bottom. We laugh and enjoy a day of hard work that ends with all of us plopped on the couch with the fireplace on, a big blanket to cuddle under and a great holiday themed movie.
My kids’ favorite part of the day, no doubt, is decorating the Christmas tree. It is filled with ornaments from as far back as when my husband and I were babies. I love the way they gently handle each one and ask about all of the stories behind them. It is like our tree is a perfect representation of each of us, displaying our hobbies, our loves, the things we all love the most. Every year I take time to pick out special ornaments for each of my children. My goal is to have ornaments that they can one day take along to their own trees when they are all grown up and they, too, can enjoy the special memories they hold dear to them on their tree, just as we always have. This year is my oldest daughter’s first year in her own place – it has been such a treat to be able to give her all of the many ornaments we have selected for her to display on her very own tree this year.
Hallmark is one of my favorite places to go to find those extra special ornaments that I know my family will adore. The selection is vast and each ornament sweeter than the next – and I love how my kids always migrate right to the ornament section whenever we pay a visit to our local Hallmark store. This year we were treated to a very special ornament from Hallmark that came in the mail to us – and it could not have been a more perfect selection for my husband and son. You see, they are both members of the South Philadelphia Stringband. Each New Years Day, the band marches up in the Philadelphia New Years parade with a new theme, intricate costumes and a theme filled with music, glittering costumes and a show stopping performance that they have practiced the whole year long. Their New Year’s theme this year is “Gotham City” so a Batman inspired ornament could not have been more perfect to mark the occasion.
Check out our newest addition – Batmobile!
What makes this ornament even more special is that it plays music. How cool is that??!! Check it out…
Thanks so much to Hallmark for contributing another special piece to our family tree. Hallmark’s dedication to helping families create memories is such a joy – and I applaude them over and over again for helping our family to create, build and capture our memories year after year.
And because Hallmark wants you to help you experience the joy of their ornaments too, Hallmark is giving away weekly prizes in a fun #KeepsakeIt Contest!
