Hard Rock Cafe Philadelphia – Kids Roxstars Menu, Breakfast with Santa and Philadelphia Holiday Family Fun

Disclosure: My children and I received complimentary meals at Hard Rock Café Philadelphia to facilitate this post.  All opinions are my own.

One of my absolute favorite traditions with my family this time of year is a visit to Center City Philadelphia.  Jam-packed with holiday happenings from the Macy’s Light Show,  Dickens Village and festive holiday window displays to the Train Display in Reading Terminal, the Comcast Light Spectacular, Dilworth Park Ice Rink and Love Park Christmas Village, it is the absolute perfect way to spend a day in Philadelphia getting lost in the Christmas spirit with the people I love most!

Prior to heading downtown, I usually schedule a game plan covering everything from how we  plan to arrive (driving vs. train) and where to eat (very important with a full schedule) to what time  we will be visiting each of our favorite places.  I always check in on Macy’s and Comcast Building’s websites for times of each shows and plan my day accordingly.  This year, Hard Rock Café reached out to me and other local area bloggers to come out to check out their new and updated kids Roxstars menu.  Timing could not have been more perfect  and Hard Rock Cafe’s location (1131 Market Street, Philadelphia) could not have been more convenient!  Located just up the street from Reading Terminal, Jefferson Station (Formerly Market East) and Macy’s, it is the perfect spot to start the day off right – and bonus points – it’s incredibly family friendly – making it perfect for kids and adults of all ages.

When I agreed to pay a visit to Hard Rock Café Philadelphia with my kids, I originally planned to take the local train to Jefferson Station and walk up to the restaurant.  Parking in Philadelphia can be so expensive so I am always hesitant to drive into town not knowing how much parking fees will put a dent into my overall budget for the day.  One thing I found especially wonderful is that Hard Rock Café will validate parking if you park at the Hilton Garden Inn Parking garage on 11th and Arch Streets .  With validation, parking cost me just $8!    That is less than the cost of the train for our family!  If visiting, you must park in this particular garage and be sure to bring in your parking pass and inquire with your waiter or waitress about validation before you leave the establishment.  You may want to call the restaurant for specifics on validation cost based on the time you will be staying in the area.

Hard Rock Philadelphia Room

During our visit, we had the privilege of dining in the Philadelphia Room, a room filled with memorabilia from Rock legends born in the Philadelphia area – think Pink, Taylor Swift, Joan Jett and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez.  The large room is spacious and perfect for a large group.  It is also extremely family friendly.  You can request to be seated in this area if tables are available when you visit.  Away from the main dining area, I actually preferred the ambiance of this room while visiting with children.  I would also imagine this room would be a great space for private events and groups.

My children were both excited to check out the new Roxstars menu.  The Roxstars menu was created for kids 10 and under.  Price for all kids meals is $7.95 and includes the meal and a kids drink.  The menu contains popular favorites such as Razzi’s Redonkulous Chicken Tenders and Sir Kingston’s Classic Cheese Pizza (to name a few) as well as healthier options like Skiddley’s Not-So-Diddly Chicken Breast and Kids Salad Chillin’ with Chicken, which are served with a glass of 100% apple juice.  Healthier side dishes such as seasonal vegetables and fresh fruit are also on the menu.  I love the option of the healthier menu items, which are all part of the Kids Live Well Program.

Hard Rock Kids Meals

Kids menu items are served on cool Guitar shaped plates, complete with dipping sauce compartments.  (Be sure to mention to your server if your child does not like condiments on their plates so that they will not add them before bringing out your child’s meal.)   In addition, children are given Roxstars activity books, which are perfect for keeping them busy if they finish their meal before everyone else in your dining party.  Menu portions are just right for the kids and both of my kids enjoyed their meals.

Hard Rock Menu ITems

I also loved that the adult menus contain calories and sodium information for each menu item.  The menu contains items to satisfy everyone’s tastes.  You will find everything from appetizers and sandwiches to burgers, full entrees, salads and desserts!  The Jumbo Combo has a little something for everyone and is perfect for sharing with a family or group.  The spinach artichoke dip and bruchetta were both absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious!  Since I have been watching my food and calorie intake, this helped me to also make better choices when ordering.  I decided on the Cobb Salad.  The salad was huge and I decided to pack up half of it to save for my dinner.  If you plan to stay in town for a few hours, it may be a good idea to leave a cooler with some ice or ice packs in your car if you plan to take leftovers home with you or a portable cooler you can tote around with you for the day in case you get hungry.

If you haven’t already planned a day in town with your family this holiday season but have been considering, here is yet another reason to head out to Hard Rock Café Philadelphia.  On Saturday December 13th, Sunday December 14th, Saturday, December 20th and Sunday December 21st , Hard Rock Café will be hosting a breakfast with Santa Claus!  This special holiday event includes a breakfast buffet, Storytime and photos with Santa and goodie bags for the children.  Reservations for the event are required and can be made HERE.  Children 2 and under are free.  Kids 3-12 are $15 and children and adults 13 and older are $18.  Best of all, the Breakfast for Santa event will be benefiting Toys for Tots.   Wouldn’t this be a perfect way to start off a fun filled day in Philadelphia?

Do you and your family visit Downtown Philadelphia during the holiday season?  If so, what are your favorite places to visit?  Have you dined at Hard Rock Café?
