Disclosure: As a McCafe mom, I received a Cuties gift package and gift card from McDonald’s to facilitate this post and giveaway. Although this is a sponsored post, all opinions, as always, are my own.
I don’t know about you, but the “Christmas Crunch” is in full swing here at our house. Between shopping, school holiday concerts, sports events and social get-togethers, the holiday season has certainly taken over a huge chunk of our family’s schedule.
This time of the year, grabbing food on the go often becomes unavoidable. Sometimes I have great intentions of getting home to make a sandwich or meal but waiting in traffic or long lines at the store throw a monkey wrench into my well thought out plan – and POOF! – We are all famished, tired and ready for a break. One thing I have taught my kids is that eating on the go does not have to be an excuse to eat unhealthily. Although, I have no problem with the occasional splurge, I encourage portion control and selecting better choice options when they are available. And boy is this Mama a much happier Mama when those “healthier” choices pop up on the menu!
This month, local McDonald’s restaurants have added a new item to their menu and Happy Meal options that really made me smile. Now through March 2015, Cuties, those delicious, seasonal little orange clementines you see popping up everywhere this time of year, will be available as a Happy Meal side choice and a la carte while they are in season. How awesome is it that McDonald’s has partnered with family-owned grower Sun-Pacific to deliver California-grown Cuties to McDonald’s across the country? Cuties happen to be one of my kids favorite types of fruit this time of year so I know they will be thrilled to be able to enjoy them on the go either a la carte or as part of their Happy Meals. Other current Happy Meal healthy choices include apple slices and Go-GURT® low fat Strawberry Yogurt tubes, which also make quick, easy and portable healthy snacks. And at a cost of just under $5 per person, I love that McDonald’s Happy Meals are a quick and cost effective way for our family to enjoy a quick meal.
I cannot tell you how excited I am to see that McDonald’s is listening to what their customers want, answering the customers questions as well as responding to their consumers comments via their “Our Food, Your Questions” campaign. What a great way to get all of your questions answered and learn more about what McDonald’s truly has to offer!
And now on to the giveaway…
McDonalds has generously offered to host a “Show Us Your Cutie” giveaway, with a prize pack for one lucky local Greater Philadelphia area Delco Deal Diva reader which will include two Happy Meal books and a $25 McDonald’s Arch Card. What a perfect way to try out some of the new Happy Meal choices (or other McDonald’s menu items) for yourself! Simply enter via the easy Rafflecopter form below. Winner will be selected on December 30, 2014. Good Luck!!
