Disclosure: My family and I will be receiving complimentary tickets to Circus Extreme in exchange to facilitate a review of the show. All opinions are my own.
The circus is coming to town! Next week, February 11 – 16th, Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus will be rolling into Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center with its newest performance, Circus Extreme.
A little about the show:
Prepare to be astonished and amazed by some of the coolest acts that can only be seen at The Greatest Show On Earth.® Children Of All Ages can let their imagination go wild in an exhilarating adventure with extraordinary circus artists and exotic animals. From the highest mountains to the deepest seas, join us as we explore a world of extreme beauty, flexibility, strength and dexterity in ways you’ve never seen before. Prepare to be amazed by incredible strongmen, astonished by the freestyle tricks and flips of BMX riders, and fall in love with our performing pachyderms.
An international assembly of more than 300 cast and crew put on this year’s xtreme performance, which includes high-wire wizards, powerful strongmen who lift a 200-pound barbell, BMX trick riders, trampoline daredevils, inconceivable contortionists, a high-flying human cannonball and a bungee aerial skydiving display.
Circus XTREME also features beautiful Bengal tigers, two-humped camels ridden by brave Mongolian women, impressive horses, and the most popular members of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey family in the magnificent Asian elephants.
“We pulled from the realm of extreme sports and competitive acrobatics and brought them into the world of the circus, making this the most contemporary show we’ve ever created,” says Producer Alana Feld. “We’ve also pushed the limits of all of our amazing artists and performers to create new and different exhilarating elements, providing audiences with extreme family fun.”
