Living here in Delaware County PA provides a multitude of access to wonderful farmers markets and CSA programs. I am often asked where to shop in the Delaware County area and surrounding area for farm fresh produce. Here is a list of a few of my favorite local farmers markets (be sure to check websites for dates and schedules). Many of the farmers markets also offer other tyoes of food, goods and entertainment. It’s a great way to enjoy some family time while shopping.

Tinicum Township Farmers Market – Every Other Wednesday 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM – Manor Field at Route 420 & 291
CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is yet another popular way to buy local, seasonal food directly from the farmer. By purchasing a share or membership, the buyer in turn receives a box, bag or basket of seasonal fresh produce weekly through the farming season. It’s a wonderful way to ensure an ongoing supply of fresh products for your family throughout the season as well as encouragement to introduce your family to new vegetables and new ways of cooking.
Red Hill Farm CSA – Aston, PA
Other local places that are wonderful to shop for quality fresh produce include:
Swarthmore Co-Op Swarthmore, PA
Produce Junction – Broomall, Boothwyn, Darby and Glenolden PA – Here you will find some of the best prices around on bulk produce items and flowers (if you do not think you will use all of your items quick enough, shop with a friend and split up the cost. This way you both save and will not end up with an overabundance of products!)
Gentile’s Market – Newtown Square PA
Enjoy some family fun picking your own fresh fruits and veggies at Linvilla Orchards – check website for schedules, prices and times.
