Looking for something fun to do with the family this weekend? On Sunday, September 13th, McDonald’s is hosting its fifth annual Ronald Cup, a family-friendly event that includes team competitions, raffles and concessions. 100% of the proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald Houses of Philadelphia, which have helped provide comfort and care to ailing children and their families for over forty years.
In addition to supporting a great cause, the Ronald Cup gives local businesses, families, and organizations the opportunity to work together as teams and compete against one another. Last year, the event raised over $13,000 for Ronald McDonald Houses, bringing its four year total to $37,000. The Ronald Cup’s five year total is expected to exceed $50,000. This year’s event will culminate with the crowning of a new winning team as well as the presentation of a check to Ronald McDonald House Charities.
I am such a huge fan and supporter of the Ronald McDonald House Charities. As a Mom of a child who was placed in ICU at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia at just 3 days old, I saw and met many families from all over the country during our one week stay at the hospital who were able to stay in the area and be with their children during their illnesses thanks to the Ronald McDonald House. Anytime I have the opportunity to promote or support this absolutely wonderful charity, I do everything I can to do so. Consider coming out as a group ot team to participate or just bring your family out to watch and cheer on the teams.
