The Festival’s signature Science Carnival takes place at the vibrant Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing on Saturday, April 30. The massive outdoor Science Carnival is one of the most highly-anticipated festival events, providing a full day of continuous family-friendly activities, hands-on experiments, live performances, educator opportunities and explosive visuals from more than 150 partnering exhibitors, all in a unique showcase of science that will officially close out the 2016 Philadelphia Science Festival

The trucks and vendors attending the event are: Aria, Bonjour Creperie, Chewy’s Cow & The Curd, Farm Truck, La Porchetta, Little Baby’s Ice Cream, Mac Mart, Mom-Mom’s Polish Food Cart, MomPops, Oink and Moo BBQ, Pbon’s Fresh Phood Truck, Penns Woods Winery, Pizza Wagon, Poi Dog, Say Cheese, Sum Pig, Sweet Box Cupcakes, Taco Mondo, Weckerly’s Ice Cream, and Zsa’s Ice Cream.

The South Jersey Kite Flyers will be putting on a spectacular show with their award winning kite flying. This year we will be introducing a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts + Math) Competition, involving student workshops and a 1HR Scramble Kite-Making Challenge, where teams of engineering students have limited time and resources to take flight. Media-Upper Providence Free Library hosts a Gatsby-themed “Prom” fundraiser on Saturday April 30 from 7 to 10 p.m. The Prom features dinner, drinks, great music and dancing at the Media Community Center for ages 21 and up. Attendees will vote for “Jay and Daisy,” the Prom King and Queen. You can dress up in your best “Roaring Twenties” attire or come as you are.
