Honoring a Special Mom and Friend with Hallmark Flowers

Disclosure: My friend and I received Hallmark floral bouquets to faciliate this review. All opinions, as always are my own.

Hallmark flowers

I don’t know about you, but I have always been intrigued at how receiving flowers unexpectedly can really boost your spirit, your mood, make you feel special and loved.  It’s that fun excitement like the type you used to get when you were a child, opening a special gift on Christmas or your birthday.  It’s a feeling that instantly brings a smile to your face and a warmness inside. There’s something so fun and enjoyable about opening your door to discover that someone has taken time to show you that they care and they wanted to brighten your day.  After accepting that beautiful bouquet, you must then find that absolutely perfect spot where you will most enjoy and adore them for as long as they last.  There’s such a vibrance about them that transforms the room.  Every time you look at them you can’t help but to smile. Maybe they conjure up a memory.  Maybe they are a symbol of love. Perhaps they are a wish for better days. They may even be the way of opening a door for an apology.  No matter what the reason, flowers really do have a way of saying it all – especially when words just are not enough.

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I agreed to partner with Hallmark and I was given the opportunity from Hallmark to nominate a special Mother figure in my life to receive a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Hallmark and FTD.

For quite sometime now there is a particular childhood friend, a Mom, a very special lady who has been in my thoughts and prayers. I thought about how wonderful it would be to be able to send her some flowers to brighten her beautiful smile.  I could not think of a more deserving person to honor.

Let me introduce you to Tonya with an excerpt from my nomination:

“This is my friend Tonya and her son Luke. A few days after this picture was taken last year, Luke was diagnosed with Leukemia. It’s been a rough year for Tonya and her family. Her husband is the Principal at our school and she also has two younger sons who are very involved in school, sports and other extracurriculars. Despite all of her responsibilities as a Mom and caring for her son and their family during his treatments and days of not feeling so well, she still takes time to reach out to friends, to compliment pictures and achievements of friends on Facebook, attending other community fundraisers and events and supporting other families going through difficult times. Despite her own hardships she is always the first to lend a hand, pick up the phone to reach out, to be there for others facing hardships like her. Tonya is a hero. She is a strong woman with the biggest, most beautiful heart and smile. She is the definition of selfless. I know it must be hard to keep that smile shining bright during these hard times. I would love for one of these beautiful bouquets to land on her doorstep, full of love and wishes from our community of Moms who are praying for her and her family and wishing strength for them as they battle the challenges they are facing. She is the epitome of a Mom. She is an example to all of us. She never asks for anything so it would be nice to shower her with some love and let that beautiful smile of hers radiate.”

The flowers were delivered to Tonya a few weeks ago. Here is a peek at the gorgeous bouquet that she received:

As always with her beautiful heart, she immediately reached out to thank me (and Hallmark) and expressed her gratitude for the show of love and concern.  Her only request as always has been for prayers for Luke and her family. One thing is for sure – you can never have too many prayers. So I am asking with all of my heart, if you pray – please keep Luke, Tonya and their family in your prayers. Luke is an athlete – a pretty awesome ball player that is – and he’s such a smart, well-rounded, well-mannered boy.  He has been so brave through his treatments and being the team player that he is, I am sure he would absolutely love each and every one of you to join his team that is rooting for him to stay strong, be well, fight and get better. You can follow along with Luke’s journey HERE.

One thing I can share for certain is that sending these flowers to Tonya made me feel as good sending them as receiving them. To be perfectly honest, before this opportunity presented itself, I had no idea that Hallmark offered flowers. However, it is not a surprise at all as these beautiful floral collections fit perfectly with the wonderfully personal cards and gifts we have come to know and enjoy for so many years from Hallmark.

Featuring 11 curated floral bouquets and 11 beautiful, fresh potted plants, the introductory Hallmark Flowers collection offers choices and options that are perfect for every occasion and recipient. Obviously prepared with extra care and love, each bouquet is wrapped in a Hallmark-branded floral sleeve and tissue.  A Hallmark sentiment tag to match the occasion complements each bouquet and plant. Flowers are shipped in the bud stage to maximize freshness and longevity. From the moment I received my flowers, I was in love with the freshness and beauty. The flowers were meticulously arranged and looked absolutely perfect as I placed them in some fresh water in the sleek glass vase that came along with them.

I loved watching them bloom over the next few days.  Here is a peek at my blooming arrangement:

The bouquet lasted a little over a week.  I was careful to change the water regularly and keep them in a cool spot in my home.

I felt absolutely spoiled, loved and appreciated every time I looked at them. It was the kind of feeling that I wanted to bottle up and share with my Mom, my mother-in-law and all of my Mom friends who deserve to be recognized for all that they do and all that they are. I stopped to think about how truly amazing it is that flowers can mean so much. I wish I could send a bunch to each and every one of you. All of you wonderful Moms out there deserve to be recognized for all you do and for that I wish each and every one of you a very Happy Mother’s Day!

What are you doing to show your Mother how much you appreciate her this Mother’s Day and everyday?
