5 HOT Items You Won’t Want to Miss at This Year’s Spring and Summer Kid Consignment Sales

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Just Between Friends Western Mainline Oaks.  All opinions are my own.

In just a few short weeks, the weather will be changing over to much warmer days, sunny skies and occasional rain showers.  It’s one of my favorite times of year for so many reasons.  I look forward to spending more time outdoors with the kids and taking advantage of  longer days spent at the park, the pool and the beach!  But there are also challenges.  Usually by the spring my kids are outgrowing their wardrobes and shoes, bored of their Christmas toys and in need of everything from school uniforms to sports gear!  Thank goodness for Spring/Summer Kid consignment sales. (I would likely go broke without them!)  There is no better place to do some one stop shopping for all of your spring and summer needs at a fraction of the cost you will spend at the mall.  Why pay full price when you can save sometimes 50% or more at a kids consignment sale?!!

There is nothing quite like a “new dress and shiny shoes” to wear on Easter morning or brand name clothes like the ones all of my daughter’s friends are wearing.  If there is one thing I’ve learned is that the “new” items my daughter is coveting can be found for a fraction of the retail price at the Just Between Friends Mainline Oaks sale. Since many dressy items are only worn a few times before the kids outgrown them, usually these items are items that I get the most bang for my buck – as they are practically new!   Hey, if you are lucky like I have been,  you may even find a few new items with tags! Some of my personal favorite finds include North Face Jackets, Under Armour attire, Justice wear and Brand name shoes!  I have even found a few brand name pocketbooks for myself! (Yes – I have seen Coach, Vera Bradley, Michael Kors and other brand name bags at these sales!)

And as if that is not already awesome enough, the bargain shopping extravaganza does not stop there. I’m here to let you in on 5 HOT items that are the perfect reason to shop this year’s Spring and Summer Just Between Friends Western Mainline Kid Consignment Sale in Oaks (which by the way  just happens to be THE LARGEST Kid Consignment Sale in the Philadelphia area)!

1. Toys, Toys and More Toys – for Both Indoors and Outdoors

There is nothing I love more than getting my kids outside when the weather is nice.  A new toy to entice them is just icing on the cake!  At previous JBF Oaks sales I have seen everything from bikes to scooters, electric powered mini cars, Sandboxes, slides, Play houses, jump ropes, play yards and just about any and every outdoor toy you can think of.  And with sweltering hot days not far behind, you will also have your pick of indoor toys, games, books, crafts, DVDs and everything you could possibly want or need to keep the kids busy indoors as well – all season long!

2. Beach, Pool Gear and Other Seasonal Items

If you are like me, the warm weather cannot get here soon enough.  Don’t make the mistake of waiting for the temperatures to soar before stocking up on pool and beach gear. Rather, take advantage of the best prices you will find by purchasing swimsuits, Sun hats, Sun tents, googles, Boogie Boards, Beach Chairs, Beach bags, Life Jackets, Floats and Sand and Water Toys at the upcoming sale!  Stocking up on all of your gear early will save you from scrambling frantically for gear when you are ready to make that impromptu trip to the shore or waterpark.  The kids will think you are the coolest Mom ever as your drive away stress free and as excited as they are to enjoy a day of adventure.

3. Casual and Dressy Shoes, Clothing and Accessories

Whenever I visit the Just Between Friends Sale in Oaks, the thing that strikes me the most about shopping here is the racks upon racks of clothing and Shoes in sizes from newborn to Teens/Juniors. With over 200,000 items at the upcoming Just Between Friends sale, not only will you find all of the clothes you could possibly need, but all of the fun accessories and shoes to go with them!  In addition, there are plenty of play clothes, pajamas and holiday/dressy attire to be found. Best of all, there are loads of brand names such as Justice, Under Armour, Nike, Janie & Jack, GAP, North Face, Tea Collection and Ralph Lauren just to name a few. And when it comes to shoes, you will find rain boots, sandals, flip flops, water shoes, sneakers, slides and dress shoes galore!  Every sale amazes me; there is always some type of surprise bargain waiting to be found! Lats year I spotted a few like new First Holy Communion Dresses and Suits with all of the accessories for a 1/3 of what they would cost at a boutique! Let’s not forget Easter is just a few short weeks away – and you will be blown away by all of the beautiful dress clothes that will be absolutely stunning for the occasion. Heading to Disney?  The JBF Oaks Sale is just the place to find all of their Disney themed attire and princess dresses and costumes – as well as the luggage to tote them all in! I am not kidding when I say this sale has you covered!

4. Sports Equipment and Apparel

Before consignment shopping, I made the mistake of purchasing all of my son’s and daughter’s sports gear at our local sporting goods store.  I never thought to check the consignment sales first.  With everything from pads and helmets to bats, balls and jerseys, cleats and skates you are likely to save anywhere from 50-75% or more off the retail in store prices.  Since kids grow so quickly, many times the gear only makes its way through a season or two or kids change their minds about which sports they want to try next, that often these types of equipment are in very gently used to like new condition!  Wouldn’t you rather put the extra money you save toward other miscellaneous sports fees or extracurricular activities?  This is what I consider smart shopping!

JBF TOYS and Games

 5. Easter  Toys, Games and Gifts on a Budget

Keeping holiday shopping on budget does not have to be difficult. The JBF Oaks sale is always jam packed with new and gently used toys that would make perfect holiday gifts! The past few Just Between Friends sales in Oaks that I attended even had a section of brand new in package nicely discounted Melissa and Doug items.  Some other kids favorites that always seem to be a big hit include American Girl Dolls and accessories, LEGO sets, video games, science experiment kits, craft kits and toddler toys.. If there is a toy that you have been holding out on because of price or having a hard time finding a favorite toy that your child lost or broke, there is a good chance that you may just find several of each at the sale! Come see for yourself – you won’t believe what you will find!

This year’s Just Between Friends Oaks Fall Sale Event will be held at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, 100 Station Ave, Hall C in Oaks PA from March 16th to March 19th. The sale is just a few short weeks away so be sure to add a note to your calendar so that you can squeeze in some time to attend!  (Be sure to bring a friend!)

There are several pre-sale time slots that happen on March 15, the day before the public sale begins. Earlier in the day team members (those who volunteer to help at the sale) and consignors are invited to shop. Later in the day first time parents/grandparents, teachers, and Prime Time pass holders (those tickets are available for $10) are invited to shop. Everyone at the pre-sale regardless of time slot needs a pass. You can get yours HERE.

Be an even smarter shopper by connecting with the Just Between Friends sale on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram where you will not only get the first sneak peeks at what is in store, but you will also be kept up to date about coupons, specials, giveaways and more!

If you are feeling ready to sell, there is still time to sign on as a consignor.  What a great motivator to turn that kid clutter into cash! There is also opportunities to get into the presale by volunteering as well as making a bigger percentage if you are also consigning with the sale. Head over HERE to register.

This is one sale you are not going to want to miss!  Get your lists ready and be sure to check out my shopping tips for visiting kids consignment sales for tips for making the most of your shopping experience.

Happy Shopping!
