 ‘Tis the season to get festive with family! Parade of Lights returns – a favorite annual holiday event at Independence Seaport Museum. 
A parade of local working boats will be illuminated in holiday lights for all to see on the Delaware River at 5:30 p.m. The best spot to take in this unique sight is from the Museum’s second floor terrace. Warm seasonal beverages and food will be available in our Holiday Hut. 
Santa’s Workshop on the Water will be merry and bright with tons of activities and crafts. Hand-made ornaments and glistening sailboats make the perfect trimmings for your home tree. Construct and decorate a gingerbread boat for $5 (limited availability – arrive early!) 
Santa himself and Jingle Jack will be spreading holiday cheer around the Museum throughout the day. Let insta-snow fall in our Citizen Science Lab! Discover the science of how (fake) snowflakes are formed.
Our Small Craft Gallery will also be anchored with things to do. Make and take your own snow globe while admiring a dazzling display of Silver Ships, our micro metallic models of holiday vessels.

We have enough spaces per visit for 12 kids/readers. We recommend ages 5+ (or any one who can read aloud), but younger siblings can join!
Readers are limited to 10 minutes of reading aloud to a pet, but can read on their own or color while waiting. Register to reserve a spot for your young reader using his/her name. Click on the date you’d like to attend and fill out the form for your child. Click “Add Guest” to add spot(s) for siblings. 
The 10-minute time slots will be done on a first come, first to sign up on site at the library on the day of the visit.

Marvel at more than 50,000 lights as they shimmer, dance, and illuminate the Square to a soundtrack of holiday classics, some of which are performed by The Philly POPS in two alternating shows every 30 minutes from 4:30 pm to 9 pm on Saturdays.
On Santa Saturdays through December 23, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, visit Santa at his holiday bench, give him your list, and take an elfie-selfie! FREE.
On Saturdays from 4 pm to 5 pm, with advance ticket purchase ($15), you can also enjoy Milk & Cookies with Santa as he tells some of his favorite stories in the indoor, heated Pavilion.
