Celebrate the holiday season as the Choo Choo Barn transforms Traintown USA® to bring the magic of Christmas to its gigantic model train display. For the 7th year, the Groff family continues their annual tradition of decorating the miniature homes and businesses along the tracks to share their holiday spirit with visitors from November 24, 2017 to January 15, 2018.
The Groffs will once again hide Santas on the layout for each year the Choo Choo Barn has been open – 56 in all! The annual “Santa Search” is always a hit with all ages – and this year’s newest Santa won’t disappoint! (You’ll have to visit to find it for yourself!) In addition, enjoy the holiday decorations throughout the display including holiday lights and the snow-covered landscape. Watch as Santa’s sleigh flies above the 1,700 square foot model train extravaganza, which includes 150 hand-built animations and 22 moving trains.

Introduction to 3D Printing Workshop at The Franklin Institute

This workshop is designed for those ages 10 through 15.
Introduce your pre-teen or young teen to the “maker movement” in this hands-on 3D printing workshop. Through small-group exercises and personal one-on-one training, students will learn how to bring their visions to life through 3D modeling and printing, the exciting new process inspiring innovation across the globe. Laying the basic foundations to understand and use this new technology, this workshop will culminate in a student-made collaborative art piece to be displayed in the museum.
Tickets are $20 for members in The Franklin Institute and $35 for the general public
