Join us for an evening of live artmaking and a live auction while celebrating the kick-off of our Scholarship Drive. #ArtinAction, Main Line Art Center’s 2018 spring exhibition (on view from April 29 – June 2) and scholarship drive, will feature the work of Jessica Curtaz (in collaboration with The Pennsylvania School for the Deaf), Ariel Edwards, Elaine Lisle, Deirdre Murphy Art and Scott White (in collaboration with a student from The Shipley School), and Bernice Paul. These artists each represent a different facet of our creative community: accessible art programs, teachers, students, members, and staff; together they embody our vision of art for everyone. Along with works for sale, a select piece from each artist will be up for auction at the event.

Benefit for the Sergeant Clinton Cunningham Family Fund
7 PM – 11 PM
at Springfield Country Club
The Sergeant Clinton Cunningham Family Fund was founded after the untimely death of Newtown Township Police Officer Clinton Cunningham. Clinton suffered a brain hemorrhage while off duty and the injury was insurmountable. Even in death, Sergeant Cunningham saved lives through the donation of his organs.
Officer Cunningham was a highly decorated and well respected five year member of the Newtown Township Police Department. He previously served ten years with the Philadelphia Police Department. Clint was recently recognized by the department as Officer of the Year and had just earned his promotion to Sergeant.
Sergeant Cunningham and his wife, Kelly were raising their four young children in a homeschooled environment. The purpose of this fund is to lessen the financial impact incurred as a result of the loss of the family’s sole income source.
This event will be a celebration of the life of Clint and it will provide us with an opportunity to offer financial support to his family.
We look forward to seeing you and we thank you in advance for your consideration.

Wild and Neat: Bridging the Gap Between Great Garden Design and Ecologoy
3 PM
hosted by Radnor Library in the Radnorshire Room at Radnor Township Building, 301 Iven Avenue, Wayne, PA
Radnor Library presents an afternoon with Claudia West as our 19th Annual Chanticleer Lecture.
Our planet is rapidly losing its foundation of life—the very plants that sustain us and most other creatures on earth. We know planting more native plants in our gardens is an important part of the solution. However, many native plant gardens that focus on ecological benefits often suffer for aesthetic challenges and fail to inspire. Great planting design is an essential part of the solution. Join us as we dig deeper into inspiring design principles derived from wild plant communities that resonate deeply within us and trigger stunning emotional responses. We will analyze archetypal landscapes and translate their principles into smaller garden spaces to help you create the native plant oasis of your dreams that will blow you away with stunning beauty!
Claudia West is a leading voice in the emerging field of ecological planting design and is the co-author of the critically acclaimed book, Planting in a Post-Wild World.
Free and open to the public
