Sparked by Benjamin Franklin’s electrifying genius, the Electrical Spectacle Holiday Light Show presented by PECO is the key to holiday fun in Franklin Square. Electrical Spectacle is a free light show that illuminates the Square nightly from November 15 – December 31. Marvel at more than 75,000 lights as they shimmer, dance, and illuminate the Square to a soundtrack of holiday classics, some of which are performed by The Philly POPS in two alternating shows every 30 minutes beginning at 4:30 pm daily. Every evening, one lucky audience member will be selected to kick off the evening’s festivities as the Igniter for the 4:30 pm show.”

The Miracle on South 13th Street Holiday Light Display

Located on South 13th Street between Tasker and Morris streets, each neighbor uses their own resources and decorations to adorn their home to reflect their personal style. The lights can be enjoyed by foot (where you can get a close up look at many neighbors’ window displays) or by driving through (please NO stopping or honking). Street Parking is extremely limited so use of public transportation is strongly encouraged (we are 2 blocks from the Tasker/Morris subway stop).
Lights are on beginning the Saturday after Thanksgiving through New Years Day from 5pm-12am. Santa and his gang occasionally visit the block–check our Facebook page for dates and times. While folks of all ages are encouraged to come and visit us, we ask that you please remember to be respectful of those that live here year round and avoid littering or any loud and unruly behavior.

2018 QVC West Chester Christmas Parade & Jingle Elf Run & Walk

This annual West Chester tradition, hosted by the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, will kick off Friday, November 30, 2018 at 5:00pm (parade starts at 7:15pm). The parade promises to provide a seasonal mix of traditional elements with a modern twist—local schools, businesses, volunteer fire companies, and other service organizations will join the many marching bands, floats, and antique vehicles that have cemented themselves as mainstays in the QVC West Chester Christmas Parade experience.
Also returning this year as Master of Ceremonies is 6abc’s own Adam Joseph, along with QVC hosts. Our hosts will be introducing speakers, entertainers, and other volunteers all night, so be sure to come early to get a good spot! But that’s not all! Before the parade, many local businesses and organizations throughout downtown West Chester will be hosting Holiday Open Houses featuring seasonal refreshments and entertainment in preparation for the parade, plus the 10th Annual Jingle Elf Run & Walk. Santa Parade and Pictures in Wayne

Featuring the Radnor High School Marching Band & Cheerleaders and the Valley Forge Military Academy Field Music Group, Jolly Old Santa will make his way down Lancaster Avenue on a fire truck to the Wayne Hotel. Wide-eyed children and their families will gather on the Hotel’s veranda to visit with Santa, while enjoying fresh baked cookies and hot chocolate compliments of Paramour and the WBA. Visit with Santa on Saturday until approximately 11:30 a.m. on the Veranda of the Wayne Hotel.

Join the Downtown Ardmore business community as we welcome over 40 unique merchants and food purveyors to Cricket Avenue in Downtown Ardmore for the 5th annual Cricket Cringle, November 30 – December 1, 2018. Reminiscent of holiday villages found throughout Europe, this unique holiday shopping experience will feature an open-air marketplace, local restaurant favorites, food trucks, live music and performances, activities for kids, complimentary shopping totes, and more!
Cricket Cringle will be open Friday, November 30th from 5pm-9pm and Saturday, December 1st from 10am-4pm. The market will feature curated merchants, food trucks and vendors in the holiday marketplace selling specialty merchandise at all price points. Vendors will carry local or handcrafted items including jewelry, housewares, clothing, greens, wreaths, and gifts for all ages. Food trucks and food vendors will feature seasonal food and drink menus, including holiday cocktails, craft beer, hot chocolate, and more. The whole family will enjoy a visit from Santa, activities for the kids, and MORE!
Cricket Cringle is FREE, open to the public and will be held rain or shine. Food and merchandise will be available for sale. Parking is free after 6pm on Friday, November 30th and all day Saturday, December 1st at meters and lots in downtown Ardmore. Ardmore is easily reached via Septa Regional Rail as well.

Design a bangle and learn to model it using primitive “building blocks” in Autocad’s Tinkercad 3D modeling software. Students will learn the basics of 3D modeling. Narberth Dickens Festival

The Narberth Dickens Festival is a free family event held each December on the streets of downtown Narberth. It draws thousands to this little borough every year, and it has become the fastest-growing holiday festival in the Philadelphia area. In this Dickens-themed event, the town of Narberth is transformed into 1840’s London, as Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and all the characters from A Christmas Carol roam the streets for an afternoon.
There is entertainment and activities for all ages, including horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday crafts, carolers, period vendors and food, dancers, musicians, ballet performances, puppet shows, magicians, puppeteers, ice sculptors, a free Dickens-themed scavenger hunt for children, and much more.
