On June 20 Media Borough Council declared June as Pride Month to recognize and honor the Media LGBTQ+ community. Mayor Bob McMahon will read the Proclamation again in a public ceremony on Sunday June 30 as part of a Media Pride Day event followed by guest speaker, Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon. Performances by Roger Ricker of the Media Theatre and the Media Theatre Camp Kids, The Free Mom Hugs Moms, and Special Appearance by Story Time Drag Queen Balene Canto are included on the schedule. A DJ Dance Party with Fanci Dismount on the Plum Street Mall wraps up the festivities. Special deals and promotions at many local shops and eateries.
