Springfield Trail 50th Anniversary Celebration
1 PM – 2:30 PM
at CC Hancock UMC 542 Wesley Rd, Springfield Township, PA
Located in Springfield Township, Delaware County, the Springfield Trail is a 5-mile loop that takes hikers along quaint tributaries, Crum Creek and rock cliffs comprised of intermingled pegmatite and Wissahickon schist. With a little imagination, it is easy to imagine the mills that once stood strong along the creek and tributaries. It is our understanding that the inaugural hike originated at the trailhead on James Lane, just behind Kovac’s Funeral Home. Due to the anticipated number of attendees at the celebration, in addition to a recent development, which will be addressed during the event, we are relocating the event to C. C. Hancock Memorial United Methodist Church.
