Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Jr. presented by Upper Darby Summer Stage

Upper Darby Summer Stage will be wrapping up its summer season with another awesome show- Willy Wonka Jr.  Due to the popularity of this season’s final act, Upper Darby Summer Stage just opened up another show date for this family-fun musical! Just an hour long, the new show date and time is 10:30 am on August 13 and thanks to the generosity of Upper Darby Summer stage, we have two family four packs to give-away to our readers!

Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka, JR. follows eccentric candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his delectable candy bars. The finders of these lucky tickets win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats, but the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka’s rules in the factory — or suffer the consequences. The show features songs from the classic movie such as “The Candy Man” and “Pure Imagination.”

The show is approximately one-hour long, with no intermission, and is ideal for ages 4 and up.
Young audience members and their families are invited to come early for fun pre-show activities and to stay after the show to meet cast members! Free babysitting is offered for young family members who are too young to quietly enjoy the show. Parking is free.

Beat the heat as you gather up the kids, grab your tickets and head over to Upper Darby Performing Arts Center for a show that is sure to be perfect for the whole family! Performances are August 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th 10:30 am and August 15th 7:30 pm at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center.
