Adaptive Ice Skating

Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfestโ€™s FREE Adaptive Sled Skating program is back on Sundays through February 2. Bring family and friends to enjoy free instructive skate lessons for those with mobility restrictions. Participants will work with rink staff to learn sled skating pro-tips on a regulation-size rink on the Philadelphia waterfront.
The site is wheelchair accessible.
All ages are welcome to participate in the lessons.
There are a limited number of sleds per lesson. Each sled is first come, first serve.
Rink staff will rotate the sleds to make sure each participant has a chance to practice.

Registering means you will commit to all classes!
Learn the basics of cooking & baking with our amazing volunteer Diane F.! Kids will learn & practice how to read a recipe, measure ingredients & use basic kitchen utensils. Registration is required, and adults are encouraged to stay to help. Each week a new recipe & edible treat will be made!

Kidpower People Safety Workshop
2 PM – 3 PM
at Haverford Township Free Library
This workshop provides an introduction to People Safety Skills for children ages 5-10 with their adult. Storytelling and interactive role-plays teach children simple but powerful skills to:
Act aware and confident
Set boundaries
Stop unwanted touch
Handle unkind words
Get help from adults effectively, even when they are busy
This one-hour training introduces everyday safety skills (NOT physical self-defense skills) and guides adults in practicing these skills together with their children. At least one parent or guardian is required to attend with their child/children. This workshop helps answer the question, โ€œHow can we teach our children to be safe without scaring them?โ€ in a fun, experiential way.
