I Still Believe, based on the powerful true life story of an American, chart-topping contemporary Christian music singer, Jeremy Camp, was released in theaters on March 13, 2020, making it’s way to #2 in its opening weekend and #3 movie overall.  Because of the movie theater closures due to the pandemic, I Still Believe quickly became available on demand on March 20, 2020 and just last week was released on BLU-RAY, DVD, and Digital. Since movie night was my choice for Mother’s Day on Sunday, I was so excited to finally watch the film for myself and let’s just say this movie not only pulls at the heartstrings, but it delivers a beautiful message of love, faith, belief and hope.  If you enjoy an inspirational, romantic drama, this is a film for you!

One love can change your life. One life can change the world. From the creators of I CAN ONLY IMAGINE comes an inspiring love story for the ages. Rediscover the wonder of love in I STILL BELIEVE, based on the real-life story of chart-topping singer Jeremy Camp.

Rated PG, Lionsgate’s I Still Believe has a run time of 1 hour 56 minutes and an incredibly talented cast including KJ Apa (RIVERDALE, A DOG’S PURPOSE), Britt Robertson (A DOG’S PURPOSE, THE SPACE BETWEEN US, TOMORROWLAND), Gary Sinise (FORREST GUMP, APOLLO 13, CSI) and Shania Twain.

If you haven’t done so already, be sure to take a sneak peek at the trailer:

“You chose willingly to walk into the fire with her. That’s what love is.” – Gary Sinise as Tom Camp

Jeremy Camp’s life story took my breath away. Snuggled on the couch with my husband and two teens, I was well prepared with a box of tissues in hand for this romantic journey. Jeremy’s journey encompasses all the feels – faith, love, inspiration, courage, success, pain, heartbreak but most of all hope.

Sure, this is a faith-based film but it is one that can be appreciated by everyone, even if you are not a particularly religious person.  The film is a hopeful reminder that though we are often tested by faith, the crosses we bear and the strength we show may also bring hope and inspiration to those around us. Whatever we endure in our lives truly shapes the person we are and the legacy we leave behind.

Having worked as an oncology nurse, I spent many years caring for patients with cancer.  My patients were some of the most courageous and inspirational people I have ever met.  Their stories still resonate with me and are often a reminder of just how precious life is and just how special love can be when there are those there to walk beside one another and help guide each other through even the most difficult times. As we all have been feeling a roller coaster of emotions during these challenging times we are currently living in, we are once again enlightened by how powerful hope is and how hope can help carry us through even the darkest of times.

Inspiring and uplifting, this story certainly brought true love to life and gripped my heart tightly from start to finish. It left me wanting to know more about Jeremy’s life today.

Newly revised and available in trade paper to coincide with Lionsgate’s film release, I Still Believe: A Memoir is also available for your reading enjoyment.
