Newlin Grist Mill Reopening Its Trails Monday, November 9th

I cannot begin to tell you how happy I was to receive word today that Newlin Grist Mill will be reopening on Monday, November 9th.  The grounds and trails at Newlin Grist Mill have been closed since August after they received extensive damage due to flooding.  It makes my heart so happy to hear that we will soon once again be able to visit one of my favorite local trails in Delaware County.

Newlin Grist Mill will be open 7 am to 5 pm beginning November 9th. New gates have been installed at the entrance to the site. These gates will be unlocked at 7am and locked at 5pm daily. Also please note that the parking lot by the log cabin will remain closed or partially blocked off to help limit the number of visitors to the park at one time.

Visitors should keep in mind that while the grounds and major trails are open, repair work in the park is ongoing. Please use caution and be mindful of marked trails that are still closed while repairs continue. Public restrooms are still closed. The staff is most grateful for your patience as they work to rebuild the visitor center and make repairs to our historic buildings and grounds.

Newlin Grist Mill extends thanks to community partners MOR Construction, Visit Delco PA, and Maguire Products, as well as the passionate teams of volunteers who have donated many hours of their time. The reopening would not have been possible without them. The park staff also appreciates the support and patience of the community as everyone works together to bring back the mill.

For more information and to follow updates, follow Newlin Grist Mill on Facebook and visit their website at www.newlingristmill.org.

May you enjoy your visits back to Newlin Grist Mill and if you have never visited, definitely add it to your places to visit in Delaware County!
