  • The Festival of Lights at Rose Tree Park The trees will be lit nightly from December 4 to January 3, from 5 PM – 10 PMRose Tree Park sparkles during the holiday season with the annual Festival of Lights. Dozens of decorated lit trees and festive displays draw visitors back each year to stroll the glimmering walkways and grounds, linger in the festive atmosphere, and pay a visit to childhood figures such as Charlie Brown & the Peanuts Gang and Santa & his Reindeer.   • Winter on Broad Street: A Holiday Light Spectacular! presented by Dietz & Watson November 27th – January 3rd outside of the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Stroll through a winter wonderland of lights, shopping, and dining. Winter on Broad Street is open 5-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5-11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.   • Holiday Magic at Brandywine (Oct. 31-Jan. 10) at Brandywine River Museum The wonder of the holiday season starts early at the Brandywine River Museum of Art this year! Beginning on October 31, 2020, visitors can enjoy “Holiday Magic at Brandywine” with the opening of the Brandywine Railroad—a holiday favorite since 1972. On view through January 10, 2021, this year’s seasonal offerings will also include the return of artist and composer Ann Wyeth McCoy’s dollhouse, which features six rooms filled with three-dozen dolls and hundreds of miniature objects that will delight visitors of all ages.
    While slightly modified this year to provide a safe and socially distant experience, the Brandywine Railroad display will still have plenty of model trains, miniature details and the engaging elements that everyone loves—including interactive components operated by hands-free foot pedals. The iconic O-gauge display will feature trains running on a thousand feet of track through a small village, a drive-in movie theater and even a carnival. NEW THIS YEAR: the Brandywine will introduce two model train sets with layouts once owned by Nicky and Jamie Wyeth—sons of the renowned American artist, Andrew Wyeth.
    Beginning November 27, the Brandywine’s whimsical Critter ornaments—handcrafted by volunteers at home this year—will be back to decorate the towering trees in the Museum’s three-story atrium.   • Holidays at Hagley daily from December 21 through January 3 at Hagley MuseumBring your family and friends to enjoy the holidays at Hagley. Head up to Workers’ Hill where you can sample individually wrapped cookies outside the Gibbons House and peek into a nineteenth century kitchen where cookies would have been baked in a woodstove. Stop by and see the festive entries in Hagley’s annual Gingerbread House Competition.These wonderful creations will be on display in the Millwright Shop, Dec. 1 to Jan. 3! Children will receive an activity kit to create a wooden gear ornament that they can make either while visiting Hagley or at home!
    Free admission to Hagley Museum is available from December 1 through January 3 for teachers, front-line healthcare workers, active fire and police personnel, and others who have been working to keep the community healthy and safe.
