  • Bird Walk at Newlin Grist Mill Saturday June 26th 8 AM Join for a monthly naturalist-led walks through the 160-acre park at Newlin Grist Mill. We will meet year-round residents, visit exciting migrants, and learn the basics of bird identification and biology. Families and beginners are welcome for these free bird walks!   • Make Your Own Ice Cream Outdoors Saturday June 26th 12 PM – 12:45 PM at Tinicum Memorial Public Library Back Lawn Join to make your very own ice cream outdoors! Please tell  exactly how many people in your group will be attending, so they are able to purchase the correct amount of supplies. Please bring your own blanket to sit on. You must follow their COVID-19 rules for this event. Blankets will be socially distanced and you must wear a mask for the majority of the event. Once your ice cream is made, you may leave to eat your ice cream, or take off your mask and eat at your own blanket. You MUST wear your mask whenever you leave your blanket.   • Rock School Acoustic Show Saturday June 26th 12 PM at Tom & Jerry’s on MacDade The Let There Be Rock School Acoustic show has become one of our favorite events. It is where the students can sign up and do any song that they choose. There is no full band for these shows and they are very cool and intimate . The show will be at Tom & Jerry’s on Macdade and will start at 12 noon. There is a $5 cover charge at the door. The event is open to the public so get your invites out!   • Science Saturday at Hagley Museum – What’s in Your Dirt?  Saturday June 26th 12 PM – 4 PM Discover the wonderful, worm-filled world of soil! Create your own mixture, plant a seed in it, and watch it grow!  Visitors of all ages are invited to discover solutions to science and engineering challenges at Science Saturday. Activities are included in regular admission and free for Hagley members. This is a drop-in activity, feel free to join the fun at any time from 12 to 4 p.m. Use Hagley’s main entrance off Route 141 in Wilmington, Delaware. Sunday June 27th 10 AM – 11 AM As you stand on the deck of Tyler’s pond and take a look around, you are likely to see frogs, turtles and maybe even fish, along with the tiny aquatic plant called duckweed. Look closer and you may see water striders or spiders on the water, patiently waiting for a meal. Join Tyler volunteer Sue Fredrick as she takes water samples and leads you on a tour of the pond and other wet areas around Tyler.
