Upper Darby Summer Stage presents “A Year with Frog and Toad” August 1st – 3rd {& a Ticket Giveaway}

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Upper Darby Summer Stage and Upper Darby Performing Arts Center.

Arnold Label’s well-loved characters hop from the page to the stage! This whimsical show follows two great friends – the cheerful, popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad – through four, fun-filled seasons. Part vaudeville, part make- believe, and all charm, “A Year with Frog and Toad” tells the story of a friendship that endures, weathering all seasons. The jazzy, upbeat score makes it an enchanting musical for the whole family.

Nominated for a Tony Award for Best Musical, “A Year with Frog and Toad TYA” tells the story of Frog (Rain Diaz of Clifton Heights) and Toad (Asha Houston of Philadelphia) and their experiences through hibernation, swimming in the summer, and many other seasonal activities. Along the way, they encounter a comical “Snail with the Mail” (Caroline Borio of Plymouth Meeting) and a sweet turtle (Emma Speck of Drexel Hill). Though Frog and Toad are practically opposites, they always support each other and their strong friendship is powerful throughout the show.

Chris Monaco, the director of “A Year with Frog and Toad” is excited about the message of the show. Chris said, “‘Frog and Toad’ is all about learning to be comfortable in your own skin and building confidence in your own abilities. It’s such a beautiful story about the strength of friendship and community.”

Beat the heat as you gather up the kids, grab your tickets and head over to Upper Darby Performing Arts Center for a show that is sure to be perfect for the whole family! Performances are August 1st, 2nd & 3rd at 10:30 am and on August 2nd at 7:30 pm at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center.
