  • The Friends of the Upper Darby Libraries are holding a series of Pop-Up, APPOINTMENT-ONLY Book Sales in the Barn at Sellers Memorial Branch (76 S. State Road, Upper Darby, PA. 
    The appointments are for one shopper or family at a time, taking place between Friday, October 22, and Saturday, October 30. Face masks and social distancing will be required.
    There are two ways to make an appointment:
    1. In person at the Barn from 10 AM to 12 PM on October 9, 12, 16 and 19
    2. Call the Sellers Memorial Branch at 610-789-4440 during normal library hours and leave your name and phone number with the staff. A Friends volunteer will call you to schedule your appointment. Details HERE
  • Delaware Children’s Museum’s “$5 After 5pm”  featuring special extended hours until 8pm, unique programming, and discounted pricing for guests visiting after 5pm.   • Fall Family Storytime Friday October 29th 10 AM at Ridley Township Public Library for ages 0-5 years. In-person program. Bring a blanket and join us for stories and music.  Classes will be held either outdoors in the courtyard or in the large meeting room.  Registration for this program will open one weeks prior to event.  When held indoors, masks are required for ages 2+.  Details HERE
  • Outdoor Storytime at Veterans Memorial Park Friday October 29th 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM hosted by Marple Public Library at Veterans Memorial Park 354 Lawrence Road Broomall, PA Join us every Friday in September, October & November for outdoor storytime in the gazebo at Veterans Memorial Park on Lawrence Road!   • Outdoor Storytime at Crum Creek Park Friday October 29th 11 AM – 11:30 AM Join Mr. Scott for a socially distant outdoor storytime!  We will read books, sing songs, and do some movement activities. Bring a blanket or chairs if you would like! Please follow CDC guidlines for masking.  In the event of bad weather or the threat of bad weather, storytime will be cancelled for the day. Please check your email the day of the storytime if things are looking iffy. Registration is per family/group, not individual.   • Nall Softball Fall Food Truck Event Friday October 29th from 6 PM – 8 PM 1127 W MacDade Blvd Folsom, PA Zac’s Hamburger’s, DELCO steaks, Fluff Daddy cotton Candy, and Scrape and Scoop food trucks will be in attendance. Bring your lawn chairs, and cheer on our softball players.

  • Bird Walk at Newlin Grist Mill Saturday October 30th 8 AM – 10 AM “Newlin Grist Mill and Wild Birds Unlimited-Concordville have teamed up to explore the wonderful world of bird life! Join us for monthly naturalist-led walks through the 160-acre park at Newlin Grist Mill. We will meet year-round residents, visit exciting migrants, and learn the basics of bird identification and biology. Families and beginners are welcome for these free bird walks! On Saturday, October 30, children are invited to come in costume and visit treat stations throughout the beautiful surroundings of Hagley’s historic home and garden. Lots of Halloween-themed activities will be available like our Spider Slingshot and “Bat”ing Practice.
